Earth system governance as a research object is quickly emerging, and the number of vacancies related to earth system governance steadily increases with the many partner institutions that work together in the alliance of Earth System Governance research centres all over the world. Most vacancies are widely disseminated through the mailing lists in the area of global environmental change, such as: Climate-L, GEP-ED, HDGEC, YHDR, and through the Project's presentation on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. The Netherlands Research School for the Socio-Economic and Natural Sciences of the Environment, SENSE (www.sense.nl), offers six excellent MSc students the opportunity to develop their own PhD research proposal in the field of Complex Dynamics of Human – Environment Systems and to become a PhD student at one of the ten participating SENSE research groups. If you are an excellent MSc student (top 10%) and you want to apply for one of these six PhD positions you should find a supervisor at one of the ten selected SENSE chair groups and develop your own PhD research proposal before 3 June 2013.
