Rickard Andersson is a PhD candidate in political science at Lund University, and is associated with the interdisciplinary research programme LUCID - Lund University Centre of Excellence for Integration of Social and Natural Dimensions of Sustainability. His main areas of research are political and social theory, with a primary emphasis on the concept of sustainability and the distinction between society and nature. In a current dissertation project, he studies how the concept of sustainability relates to the distinction between society and nature in modern political thought, and how this distinction has changed throughout the history of political thought. As such, the theme of the project is concerned with the history of sustainability as a concept in political theory, and the analytical problem of the distinction between society and nature.
